USA, Germany nd France condemned the Russian decree on the simplification of the procedure for granting Russian citizenship to residents of “L/DPR”
French Ambassador to Ukraine Isabelle Dumont and US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker stated that the decision of the Russian authorities to grant Russian passports to Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Donbas contradict the Minsk agreements.
This contradiction is also stated in the joint statement of the Foreign Ministries of Germany and France:
“These regions, as well as the entire Donbas, are part of Ukraine. The simplified procedure for granting citizenship of the Russian Federation to citizens of Ukraine is contrary to the spirit and goals of the Minsk agreements”.
