A war participant in the Donbass is being tried for the murder of a Ukrainian officer
The New York Times published an investigation into a Russian citizen suspected of having killed the former officer of the Ukrainian army, Ivan Mamchur, on September 16, 2016. The victim participated in the hostilities in the east of the country, and the Ukrainian authorities regarded the death of Mamchur as one of many episodes of the hybrid war. Journalists, however, believe that the roots of this story are drawn to the war in South Ossetia in August 2008.
