Head of the Luhansk Regional Human Rights Center “Alternative”. In 2010-2014, he was a deputy of the city council of the now occupied city of Alchevsk, Luhansk Region. The main activities of the organization after the relocation in 2014 included documenting human rights violations related to the armed conflict and engaging civil society representatives in dialogue in order to bring peace. With the start of a full-scale invasion, Valeriy and his organization are closely monitoring the situation in the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russian troops.
