“The giant shouldn’t say to the dwarf, you’re a threat to me”: Martin Saydik on prospects for resolving the conflict in Donbass
Former OSCE representative in the TKG Martin Saidik gave a detailed interview to the Russian newspaper Kommersant, in which he called Russia a party to the conflict and raised the issue of the influence of the Russian domestic political factor on decision-making on the Donbas.
“Why did Surkov (Russian presidential adviser Vladislav Surkov.-Kommersant) meet with “dobrovoltsy” after the Norman summit (congress of the Donbas Volunteer Union, SDD, December 15, 2019)? What factor are these “dobrovoltsy” in Russian politics? After that meeting, Boroday (SDD head Alexander Boroday.-Kommersant) said that the conflict can only be resolved militarily. Isn’t this a domestic political factor in Russia?”
