Actors Map

This analytical review of the actors of the conflict in Donbas was prepared in the framework of the “Map of Conflict” subproject of the CivilM+ civil society platform, which overall goal is to identify the actors and groups involved in the conflict in Donbas at various levels, as well as their influence, mutual relationships, interests, fears, and expectations.

This analytical study is the first attempt to systematize as much as possible material on all institutions and actors whose participation in the conflict in Donbas and its settlement has political and social significance. It is assumed that this analysis will help identify possible ways of influencing various stakeholders in order to resolve the conflict.

This study may be used in the work of diplomats, representatives of international organizations, decision-makers, experts working in various fields related to the resolution of the conflict in Donbas.

In addition, it is expected that the document will become the methodological support for the CivilM+ platform members and other representatives of the civic sector from Ukraine, Russia, and European countries in their work with various actors influencing the promotion of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas.

Democracy Development Centre

Main activities include the development of methodological guidelines and publications on social education and women's rights; preparation of alternative reports on women's rights; research studies on the topic "Women. Peace. Security "; education of local government and NGOs on implementing gender equality and the goals "Women/Youth. Peace. Security"; organization of seminars and conferences.

Ukrainian Center of Concordance

The organization’s mission is the protection of the social interests of citizens, assistance in building mutual understanding between communities and people in all regions of Ukraine and increasing their competence in the peaceful settlement of conflicts, as well as the introduction of a culture of alternative dispute resolution in Ukraine at the level of the best international practices.

Ukrainian Women’s Fund

The research project “Invisible Battalion” (2015 – 2016) aimed to amend laws and regulations that discriminate against women and hinder gender equality in the armed forces, study the best practices of women integration in the armed forces, raise public awareness, and improve the treatment of women in the armed forces. Conducted with the support of OAK Foundation and UN Women.
