In May 2022, after the start of a full-scale Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Yuriy Belousov headed the War Crimes Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine. Prior to that, he was the head of the Department for Combating Violations of Human Rights in the Law Enforcement and Penitentiary and the Specialized Unit of the Prosecutor General’s Office for Combating Torture.
